The modern Church's Low View of Sex and Biblical Gender Roles

The Church for centuries has taught a low view of sex. Many early Church fathers held onto the view that sex within marriage was dirty. That may seem to us to be holy and righteous view, but it is actually to call what God says is pure, dirty:

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4).

Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

(1 Corinthians 7:3-5).

This blog will examine the theology of sexuality, sex and gender in the next series, as much confusion and false teaching has infiltrated the modern Church on these issues.

The modern Church has become very influenced by the world in its thinking on these issues, for which God gives commandments about how we as Christians should think about and live in accordance to His Will on such issues.
