Modern evangelicals have given me the biggest headache. Not the unsaved, but the modern evangelicals. They impose their cultural sensitivity rules on others, under the guise of being "gentle" and "meek". One of them mocked me sarcastically and spitefully, claiming that I said that if one does not warn about mammon, one is under it, thus, implying that Apostle Paul and the disciples were under it. What a hateful, spiteful mocking remark! This person posed a stumbling block to me in all areas of the faith, while preaching about it once. What hypocrisy!
Warning about mammon is a Christian duty. 1 Timothy 6:9-11 is a warning about mammon. What rubbish is this modern evangelical talking about! Philippians 4:11-13 says:
Warning about mammon is a Christian duty. 1 Timothy 6:9-11 is a warning about mammon. What rubbish is this modern evangelical talking about! Philippians 4:11-13 says:
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
This is a verse relating to the issue of mammon.
Hebrews 13:5 says:
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
This is also relating to mammon.
The Great Commission tells the church to teach the nations to observe the things Jesus commanded the church: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:19-20).
To not serve mammon, but hate him, is to observe Jesus's command. To teach and warn about mammon, therefore, is to teach people to observe what Jesus said. It is part of the Great Commission.
Fear God, not modern evangelicals.
